If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use the App. This Policy may change from time to time (see “Changes to Our Privacy Policy” below). Your continued use of the App following any updates constitutes your acceptance of those changes, so we encourage you to review this Policy periodically.

Children Under the Age of 18

Our App is not intended for individuals under 18 years of age. No one under 18 may provide any personal information to or through the App. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 18. If you are under 18, do not use or provide any information within the App, register on the App, make any purchases, use any interactive features, or provide any information about yourself to us, including your name, address, telephone number, email address, or any screen name or user name you may use.

If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 18 without verified parental consent, we will promptly delete that information. If you believe we may have collected information from or about a child under 18, please contact us immediately at help@beabettereating.com.

Information We Collect About You and How We Collect It

We collect several types of information from and about users of our App, including:

  1. Personal Information: Information by which you may be personally identified, such as name, email address, and login credentials.

  2. Usage and Interaction Data: Information about how you use the App, including your interactions with certain features.

  3. Technical Data: Information about your device and internet connection, such as IP address, device type, and operating system.

We collect this information:

  • Directly from you when you provide it to us, such as during account registration or interactions within the App.

  • Automatically as you navigate through the App, using cookies, analytics, and other tracking technologies to collect usage details, device information, and more.

Information Collected by Third-Party Services

In addition to information collected directly by the Company, certain third-party service providers collect additional data to support and enhance the App's functionality.

Klaviyo

We use Klaviyo to manage certain email communications related to the App. Klaviyo collects the following information from users:

  • User’s name (as entered during the onboarding process);

  • Email address (for Google and standard email sign-up; Apple email addresses may be masked);

  • User’s coarse location;

  • Birth date;

  • Time zone;

  • IP address.

While we do not have a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) with Klaviyo, we carefully monitor its secure infrastructure and adherence to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) requirements for handling personal data, as Klaviyo follows GDPR compliance standards. Klaviyo is used solely for managing user communications related to the App, and we do not share user data outside of Klaviyo for any other purposes.

Promotional Communications: Users may receive App-related promotional or informational emails managed through Klaviyo. You may opt out of future promotional emails by following the unsubscribe instructions provided in those communications or by emailing us at help@beabettereating.com. This opt-out does not apply to communications related to your App usage, such as service-related announcements, account updates, or responses to support inquiries.

Third-Party Services and Data Management

We use select third-party service providers to securely manage data and support App functionality, including services for data storage, interactive features, and communications:

  • Details of your visits to our Service Pages, including traffic data, location data, logs, and other communication data and the resources that you access and use the Service Pages.

  • Information about your computer and internet connection, including your IP address, operating system, and browser type.

We also may use these technologies to collect information about your online activities over time and across third-party websites or other online services (behavioral tracking).

The information we collect automatically is only statistical data and does not include personal information. It helps us to improve our Service Pages and to deliver a better and more personalized service, including by enabling us to:

  • Estimate our audience size and usage patterns.

  • Store information about your preferences, allowing us to customize our Service Pages according to your individual interests.

  • Speed up your searches.

  • Recognize you when you return to our Service Pages.

Third-Party Use of Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies

We use select third-party service providers to securely manage data and support App functionality, including services for data storage, interactive features, and communications:

Data Storage and Processing: We utilize a reputable third-party cloud provider to securely store and process data. We have entered into a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) with this provider to ensure compliance with applicable data protection laws.

We do not sell, rent, or otherwise share your personal information with advertisers or any third parties for their own marketing purposes. Third-party services we engage are required to use your information solely as directed by us and to maintain adequate data security measures.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information collected from you or that you provide to us, including any personal information, to:

  1. Operate, improve, and personalize your experience within the App;

  2. Communicate with you about your account and updates related to the App or services;

  3. Respond to customer support inquiries and provide necessary assistance;

  4. Ensure compliance with our legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use;

  5. Send you communications related to the App, including usage guidance, updates, and promotional information directly related to the App’s offerings.

We may also use anonymized, aggregated information to enhance our understanding of user preferences and improve the App.

Disclosure of Your Information

We may disclose aggregated, non-identifiable information without restriction. We may disclose personal information we collect or that you provide as described in this Policy:

  • To Service Providers and Contractors: We may share information with third-party service providers to support App functionality, data storage, and email communication services.
